Jonna is a university lecturer at the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Educational Sciences. She is a doctor of early childhood education and teacher of early years pedagogy. Her research focuses on play based practices and learning activities and participatory pedagogy in early education. She holds the value of participation in learning essential in early years as well as in University and aims to promote students empowerment in her courses. She believes that innovative and creative minds are developing through playful activities and shared meaning making processes between students and teachers.
