Playful Learning Center (PLC) was established in 2014 in connection to a two-year research and development project funded by TEKES, the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation (called today as Business Finland). The leading actors in the establishment of PLC were professor Kristiina Kumpulainen, professor Lasse Lipponen and associate professor Sara Sintonen from the University of Helsinki. Mr. Olavi Mertanen and Ms. Heidi Sairanen contributed to the administration and running of the center in its early years.
